" It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Microbiology, Bayero University Kano - Nigeria. The Department offers number of courses in basic and applied Microbiology. We also train individuals in vibrant researches aimed at providing alternatives toward eradication of infectious diseases and manipulation of microorganisms to serve as useful agents in food production as well as providing food safety. In addition, the Department has modern equipment that facilitate research at molecular level and staff who are professionally trained in researches that improve agricultural production, control of environmental degradation as well as biofuels generation. Our programmes are designed to produce competent Microbiologists who are professionally equipped to meet the current and future medical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, industrial and environmental needs of the Nigerian and International societies."
